I am not sure what to make of blogs. A "bloodle" is a blog for moodle.

Exploring the use of blogs as learning spaces in the higher education sector
Response: I am still very new at this. I think that while this article stretches to reach to others the importance of blogging, I believe that this type of forum is best suited in higher education and in classes involved in higher learning.
Personally, I do not want to share information with my students in a network format unless there were strict guidelines for both the adult and the juvenile. If other public forums such as Facebook, and Twitter can be compromised, is there a necessity for this type of communication between teacher and student? There have been problems with social networks and how they can ruin people's lives and careers. To some degree, blogs are "personal diaries" that others can read online.
I for one do not want to participate in blogs other than what is required for college coursework.

Is there anyone out there who feels that we need to disconnect from all of this for awhile?
I am not willing to share the many parts of my day with the blog gawkers! I think that within the higher education system, it is a wonderful way to network, keep in touch with professionals, (e.g.LinkedIn), but for the nosy public-we all need to work on ourselves...

I love to garden!
This picture represents just one of the many types of plants that I enjoy nurturing, planting, and growing.

It truly is an interesting world. I have lived a mere 53 years only to see that my world is changing at a rate that at times, I have trouble keeping up with.
My first experience with computers involved a very large stack of data processing cards, a computer the size of two large classrooms, and making sure that the cards were in correct order just to make a little triangle-shaped mouse create a pattern onto a monitor screen.
My first experience with video games was PONG. It was a game that sat on the floor of the local ice cream parlor and was a bit smaller than a pool table. There was a joystick at either end and a "paddle" that the joystick controlled. Back in the day, eh?
After reading the articles, it is clear to me that if I can keep up with today's technology, it will help me to stay not only current with new trends and ideas, but help me to maintain a professional edge in the classroom, with my colleagues, and with the world. There are so many possibilities with this newer technology, I plan to work hard to stay with as much of the newer trends as possible.
I have the basic tools to work with; I will try to expand on this blog or even create a new blog. What is important, is to be sure that many safeguards are in place, and that my students are able to benefit from my experience.
At first, I was a bit fearful, but now I think that I can venture out on my own into this new experience.
